Cape Natural Tea Products prides itself in supporting Community based projects.
We are committed to purchase, process and market teas form the Southern Cape Community project. Cape Natural Tea Products, in partnership with The
Better Trading Company, has pioneered the introduction of Rooibos tea in the Elim District of the Southern Cape. The growers are a number of local
farmers, whose farms have been passed down through generations. There farms continue to be farmed by extended family and local community.
The employment generated from this growing project has already had a positive impact on this previously disadvantaged community. Increased jobs and
revenue have empowered the community giving them much needed security and stability. There is great potential to develop a large-scale sustainable
commercial framing farming project in the area.
What can you do?
With your ongoing support we can grown this project in areas that will further benefit the community and industry by creating jobs, improving
educations, proving income, ensuring sustainability and ongoing supply superior Rooibos Grades.
Nurtures Nature - Tree Planting Iniciative
Cape Natural Tea Products has planted 46 indigenous Num-Num trees at its Brackenfell factory to mark its commitment to biodiversity protection.
The tree planting marks the start of the ‘CNTP NURTURES NATURE’ initiative and aims at raising awareness of environmental concerns amongst its staff
members. One of the core values of CNTP as agreed by the entire staff is caring for the environment. “This tree planting is the execution that value.
We will be extending this program to include farms supplying us with raw material”.
The Rooibos industry body, the SA Rooibos Council, has a Biodiversity protection initiative, Right Rooibos, which focuses on establishing biodiversity-friendly farming practices amongst rooibos growers. This is the first step taken by a Rooibos processor in committing to environmental issues. "Cape Natural Tea Products has taken the lead on its journey of promoting sustainable production practices among its producers and suppliers.
